helmi means pearl. helmi day necklace is inspired of warmth and vibrant colors, which the nature and sun are creating. The necklace has two sides – one colorful out of colored birch, one dark one out of smoked oak. With flipping the jewelry you can have the colorful side showing or the wooden one.
Wood is a living material and every piece has its own color and texture. It means, that the texture and color can be little different from piece to piece. Pine varies more than smoked oak. Here you find more information about the wood we use and how it varies. Also the colored wood has a little variations depending on, how the birch is. Our silver parts are 100% recycled silver, except the silver chains.

Wooden parts and most of the viilu jewelry production are hand made at our studio. The origin of the wood we use: pine – Finland and Estonia, birch – Finland, oak – Germany. We use only European wood. Our silver parts are cast in Finland. Silver chains are produced in Italy. The materials are carefully chosen. We produce our jewelry as sustainable as possible.
Every viilu jewelry is delivered in a packaging, which is made of cardboard, outer part out of recycled cardboard. Our packaging contains no plastic and they are produced in Finland.
